In Pakistan, the beauty of a place
is determined by two factors. A city’s location and its people.
A city should have something that
appeals to visitors from other countries because there are about 3 billion
people on earth, and it would be impossible for them to see every landmark in
each country. It is easy to say where we should go, but how to find it?
The best ways to find out which
cities are worth visiting in Pakistan include looking at reviews, travel
guides, social media, online forums, and local travel websites.
What type of travel guide will you
look for when choosing your next destination for 2023?
Here are some tips to help you
choose a suitable travel area:
Read Reviews
Reviews tell us what customers think
of certain destinations and what people are doing when they get there. They
also show an ideal traveler.
Always read customer reviews as
these can be a good indication of the quality or service. Not only can reviews
show a reviewer’s opinion and experience traveling to a specific destination,
but they can also give insight into local cultures and local beliefs.
Read Travel Guides
When you’re planning your trip, one of the first things you’ll want to do is read travel guides. While a lot of guides are written specifically with tourists in mind, some may be written by locals who are trying to share their culture and history.
However, always use caution when
reading any book that promises authenticity and accuracy since sometimes
tourism guides may not have been vetted by people who know the ins and outs of
the destination.
Most importantly, never trust anyone
claiming to be an expert in every aspect of the country, especially if they are
not experienced, travelers.
Use Search Engines
If you plan to go to a new
territory, make sure you know where to start. For example, Google Maps is
pretty much always accurate with directions. If you are planning to drive
around Pakistan, the most important thing is knowing the highway routes that
lead to various destinations.
On Google Maps, just enter
“Pakistan” to get started – the map will then take you to several links or
websites detailing information on different locations and different attractions
in Pakistan. You can also use this tool when planning your trip to Pakistan as
the map will even let you know whether you’re heading to the right place!
Find More Info
As someone whose job involves
traveling to many different places, I often forget to ask questions like:
What are the major landmarks in my
destination?
Who does/does not speak English in
my area?
How easy is it to reach our
hotel/resort from the airport?
Are there any common foods in other
parts of the world?
These kinds of questions usually pop
up when we’re planning our trips, so it’s a good idea to ask before planning
anything. Once you learn the answers and use Google Maps, you’ll never need to
spend hours wondering which part of the world is “the best” again!
Take Note of Cultural Differences
As mentioned above, language
barriers are one of the biggest problems when searching for a particular place.
But culture can often be different between one region and another, and if you
come across culture shock, it could affect your entire vacation.
So, it’s important to take time to
notice these differences and work to avoid feeling judged by others about them.
Try to keep open-mindedness and try not to judge other cultures based on
stereotypes!
This way, people won’t feel offended
when your family member asks why they didn’t get married when she was fourteen.
People are generally kind, caring, and willing to try to understand other
cultures.
The same goes for foreigners as well
as locals. When in doubt, ask. And if you do find yourself feeling
uncomfortable, remember that culture isn’t one size fits all, and no matter
where you are, everyone has something special to offer.
Travel Light!
There are tons of research out there
on how to travel light. One of the biggest myths is that one needs to pack a
ton of clothing for every single day of your travels. There are benefits to
being able to carry less. Some people find packing fewer clothes to be easier
and more comfortable, while others find it harder to manage. Traveling without
clothes is hard to control, but it can be done!
For instance, here are some
suggestions on how to stay clean:
Wash your hands frequently.
Wear plenty of antibacterial soap.
Wash your sheets regularly (every
three or four days).
Wipe down your phone after using it.
Wash your hair often (every couple
of months).
Don't leave dirty dishes unattended.
Don't forget to change your
underwear.
Don't skip meals (eat foods you
love!)
Don't eat fast food as much as
possible.
Don't drink too much water.
Plan Ahead!
When planning a trip, it's important
to think about how long it'll take you to get there. Is it a weekend or a week?
Does it depend on traffic? Do you want to avoid crowded areas? Planning will
allow you to prepare for whatever type of journey you might encounter. Plus,
planning gives you time to consider alternative accommodations such as sleeping
arrangements, transportation options, and any other necessities.
In Pakistan, there are many unique
features like religious sites, lakes, mountains, rivers, beaches, national
parks, and a large variety of plants. Each feature is unique within its group
so it’s best to visit in small groups. Visiting these features would make for a
great chance to meet local friends and enjoy authentic local experiences.
On top of traveling alone with your
passport, it's important to remember to bring along a backup wallet, cash,
credit card, money in case of loss or theft, and identification cards. Plan
your stops carefully as some of them might be full of customs, and if
necessary, pack a little extra! Don’t stop!
