Kaghan Valley is located in
north-south of Mansehra district. It is quite famous not only in Pakistan but
all over the world. This valley has very attractive and eye-catching scenery.

Kaghan Valley is a
beautiful valley of Mansehra District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) which is world
renowned for its natural beauty. A lot of famous entertainment and most beautiful
places in northern areas of Pakistan are located in Kaghan valley.
Kaghan Valley got its name
from the town called Kaghan. Kunhar River flows through the mid of this valley.
The valley rises from 2134 meters to 4173 meters above sea level and extends
over 155 km.
The population here knows
Pashto and Urdu very well. The area is dotted with forests and pastures and
beautiful views make it paradise on earth.
There are also high peaks up to 17 thousand feet. Among which Makra Choti (Spider Peak) and Queen Parbat are famous.
This valley of mountains, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, springs and
glaciers awaits tourists in summer (May to September).
The maximum temperature
here in May is 11 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature is 3 degrees Celsius.
From mid-July to end of September, the route from Naran to Babusar Pass is
open. Transportation in the valley becomes difficult during monsoons and
winters.
This beautiful valley can
be easily accessed from Balakot, Abbottabad and Mansehra. From Balakot one can
easily reach Kaghan or Naran by buses or other means of transport.
All the way from Balakot
to Naran, the river Kunhar flows along with beautiful forests and mountains.
The beautiful towns of Kiwai, Paras, Shino, (Ochre) Jared and Mahandri are also
visited on the way.
There are more than 100
hotels of different quality in Naran. A motel of Pakistan Tourism Development
Corporation is also located in Naran.
Rainfall occurs most of
the year in Naran. Average annual temperature is 10.1 degrees Celsius.
