Kalash Valley is one of the most attractive valleys in the world. This valley is very famous among tourists due to its ancient civilization.
The people of this valley are very welcoming.
Cultural and religious festivals are celebrated here with great enthusiasm.
The religious festivals of
this tribe are famous all over the world for their culture and traditions,
which are visited in large numbers by people from different cities of the
country along with foreign tourists. These festivals are celebrated in months
of May, August and December.
Dance and music, drinking and delicious food are arranged in the valley for three days. The festival also includes the ritual of Gul Pareek, in which a young man sprinkles milk on all mothers and children of the village and the women garland the young man with Chihari.
In this festival, young boys and girls choose their life partners and
their marriages are announced.
The festival is celebrated
in three valleys of Rumbur, Bumburet and Birir, for which tourists from the
country as well as foreign countries participate. The men and women of Kalash
tribe come together to perform traditional dances in a hall during celebration.
On the last day of
festival, the Kalash men assemble in another field, where they wave walnut
branches, leaves and flowers in their hands and walk slowly towards this field,
where the women also hold green leaves in their hands.
When these groups approach the women, they sprinkle leaves and flowers on them and at the same time women throw the leaves at men and all dance together.
On the last day of Joshi
festival, the newly loved couples of the valley announce their marriages.
